Internships

Thank you for your interest in an internship in the Washington, DC office of Congressman Mike Flood (NE-1). Congressman Flood is passionate about investing in future leaders and is excited to offer students and recent graduates an opportunity to participate in the legislative branch of the federal government. Learn more about the office's Congressional Internship Program in this brochure.

Our Congressional Internship Program is designed to provide participants with a front-row seat and firsthand experience of how Congress functions. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside each team within our full-time congressional staff. The internship curriculum is meant to provide interns with an understanding of how a congressional office processes constituent services, communications, operations, legislation, and committee work. Interns are also encouraged to attend multiple congressional hearings, policy briefings, guest speakers, exhibits, and networking events on Capitol Hill.

Interns in our office may receive college credit depending on the post-secondary institution they attend. Our office is also able to provide interns with a monthly stipend.

What are these options?

Constituents who are hard of hearing or use a video phone have the option to choose TDD or VP based on the type of device they are using. This allows our office to respond to them accordingly. The default option 'Voice' is a standard audible telephone.
