Rep. Flood Secures Inclusion of $2.9 Million for First District Projects in Federal Funding Package

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood released a statement following the recent House passage of a three-bill funding package, H.R. 6938. The bill provides Fiscal Year 2026 funding for priorities related to commerce, justice, water development, and other critical areas.
As part of this appropriations package, Congressman Flood helped secure more than $2.9 million in federal funding for projects across Nebraska’s First District, detailed below:
- $1,200,000 to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office equipment and body-worn cameras.
- $750,000 to the City of Scribner for their wastewater treatment improvement project.
- $500,000 for detention alternative youth shelter enhancements.
- $474,842 to the Lincoln Police Department for the purchase of cruisers.
In addition to the Community Project Funding requests, the appropriations package advances American energy independence, increases funding for the Drug Enforcement Administration, helps modernize America’s nuclear weapons stockpile, as well as exempts farms and livestock producers from burdensome, out-of-touch greenhouse gas permitting and reporting requirements, amid other commonsense wins.
The funding package awaits Senate action before it needs the President’s signature to become law.
