Rep. Flood: Congress Will Deliver Tax Relief for Working Americans

February 25, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressmen Mike Flood issued a statement following passage of H. Con. Res. 14 - FY25 Budget Resolution, the framework that will help deliver tax cuts this year.

“Tonight’s vote was the first step on the path to delivering tax cuts for working Americans. If Congress doesn’t act, working Americans will see a tax hike when the Trump tax cuts expire. For example, a family making about $76,000 would experience a $1600 tax hike if Congress does nothing. The measure voted on tonight is just a framework. To deliver these tax cuts, Congress now has to identify places to curb federal spending. In the coming weeks, congressional committees are going to be working on what the final tax cut and budget plan will look like. It’s critical that we get the reconciliation package done quickly, so that working Americans get continued tax relief and to spur new economic growth.”
