Fellow Nebraskans…

As we enter this season of giving back, I want to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving.

Over 400 years ago, the first Thanksgiving meal was celebrated in 1621. And in 1870, President Grant made the day a federally recognized holiday.

As we each carry out annual traditions this week, whether we’re feasting with family and friends, watching football, or putting up a Christmas tree, let’s all remember what and who you’re thankful for.

As we celebrate, let’s remember and show appreciation for the men and women in uniform serving around the world to protect our freedom.

As an American, I’m grateful for the peace and liberty we enjoy here at home. But we can never forget the great sacrifices they’ve made through the years.

During this season, I hope you will take some time to slow down, rest, and connect with family and friends.

On behalf of my wife, my sons, and myself,  have a happy Thanksgiving, and may God bless you and God bless America.
