Congressman Flood's Statement on Trump v. Anderson

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following a unanimous decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in Trump v. Anderson.
“After years of trying to paint themselves as defenders of democracy, liberals tried to throw their political enemy, Donald J. Trump, off the ballot unilaterally,” said Rep. Flood. “Tossing political opponents from the ballot would have been a dangerous precedent to set for our country and would have opened the door to political parties trying to decide elections before a single vote has been cast. I am pleased the U.S. Supreme Court issued this unanimous decision, which protects our democratic process and the future of the American republic.”
Congressman Flood had previously joined an amicus brief along with more than 170 Members of the House and Senate in the case. Details can be found here.
