Congressman Flood’s Constitution Day Statement

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA - U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement ahead of Constitution Day, which will be observed September 17, 2022.

“The U.S. Constitution is a document that is totally unique in human history. Unlike a monarchy or oligarchy, our Founders established a constitutional republic. As the preamble to the Constitution states, our government was formed with the consent of ‘we the people’ – not by a king or powerful overlord. For over 200 years, the Constitution has protected the God-given rights of Americans, but we cannot take this for granted. On Constitution Day and throughout the year, we must work to ensure that our government protects our rights through our unique system of checks and balances, so that Americans can continue to enjoy the land of the free and the home of the brave!”
