Congressman Flood Votes to Secure the Border, Stem Humanitarian Crisis

Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood recently issued a statement following a vote on H.R. 2, also known as the Secure the Border Act of 2023.

“Over the last few years, Title 42 allowed the federal government to expel migrants more easily, but even so there have been over five million illegal border crossings during Biden’s presidency. With Title 42 ending now, the humanitarian crisis that has been unfolding on America’s southern border will only get worse. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Today, House Republicans took action to secure the border with H.R. 2 – and now it’s time for Senate Democrats and President Biden to come together around this commonsense plan so we can stop this humanitarian crisis and protect our nation.”
