Congressman Flood Votes to Reform FISA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following a vote on H.R. 7888, the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act. This legislation modifies and temporarily extends the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, also known as FISA, for a period of two years.
“The Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act makes critical changes to FISA to better protect the freedoms of the American people while strengthening national security protections. I have experienced firsthand during classified briefings how important tools like these are in combatting threats against the citizens of the United States. As foreign adversaries evolve and deploy more sophisticated spying operations in the coming years, Congress must continue to revise this law to help our country combat these threats while ensuring that we protect the civil liberties of the American people.”
