WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following the passage of H.R. 3746, also known as the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023.
“In an era of divided government, Speaker McCarthy successfully out-negotiated Washington Democrats and President Biden on this historic debt ceiling deal. From reducing the deficit by more than $2 trillion to implementing work requirements for welfare programs, the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 delivers substantial conservative victories which many could not have imagined just months ago. This is a significant step forward for our country as House Republicans continue to fight historic inflation caused by the Biden Administration’s reckless spending.”
