Congressman Flood Votes to End Biden’s COVID Pandemic Emergency, Protect Healthcare Worker Freedom

February 1, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following votes on two measures related to the coronavirus pandemic. H.R. 382 (The Pandemic is Over Act) ends President Biden’s coronavirus pandemic emergency. H.R. 497 (Freedom for Healthcare Workers Act) ends Biden’s coronavirus vaccine mandate for healthcare workers.

“President Biden declared the coronavirus pandemic was over back in September, but he and his administration have been dragging their feet, refusing to end key pandemic policies. He’s been holding onto his coronavirus emergency declaration to prop up his ill-advised student loan debt bailout. And his coronavirus vaccine mandate has been driving healthcare workers out of the industry and ending careers. House Republicans acted today to move our nation forward in the wake of the worst pandemic in a generation and it’s time for the Biden Administration to look to the future and end these policies that are hurting our economy and working Americans.”
