WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following a vote on H.R. 21, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
“Every human life is a gift. Right now, federal law does not make it clear whether children born, even amid an attempted abortion, have a right to medical care. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act places a federal standard into law and provides basic protections. This is a commonsense measure that defends against practices that amount to infanticide and ensures that our healthcare system is doing more to respect every human life.”
Congressman Flood is a co-sponsor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Full text of the bill can be found here.
