Congressman Flood Votes for Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act

January 11, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following a vote on H.R. 26, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act.

“Right now, federal law does not make it clear whether children born, even amid an attempted abortion, have a right to medical care. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act places a federal standard into law and provides basic protections. This is a commonsense measure that defends against practices that amount to infanticide and ensures that our healthcare system is doing more to respect every human life.”

This afternoon, Congressman Flood also voted in favor of H. Res. 3, a resolution expressing the sense of Congress condemning the recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches. In recent months, a number of pro-life organizations have faced attacks and threats, including the John Paul II Newman Center in Omaha, Nebraska. More information about the incident can be found here.
