Congressman Flood Urges Biden Administration to Take Action Regarding Chinese Farmland Purchase Near Major Military Base in North Dakota

WASHINGTON, D.C.- U.S. Congressman Flood and Oversight and Reform Committee Republicans are urging the Department of Treasury, Department of Defense, and the Department of Agriculture to take action regarding the potential national security risks the Fufeng Group, a Chinese-based company with close ties to CCP, poses on the United States after the manufacturer recently purchased land in North Dakota near a major military air base.
“We are concerned about the precedent this land purchase will set and its ability to serve as the model for our adversaries to encroach on American security, particularly through purchases of farmland,” said the Republican Lawmakers. “At a time when the United States is engaged in great power competition with China, we must utilize every tool at our disposal to protect and defend the integrity of our military and national security, maintain military dominance, and maximize our global military readiness.”
