Congressman Flood Supports Aid for Allies, TikTok Ban, & Border Security
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following a series of votes on aid for America’s allies, including Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan as well as border security funding and a ban on TikTok.

Ukraine: “Aid is critical not just for Ukraine, but for the entire free world so we can beat back the reincarnation of what Reagan called the ‘Evil Empire.’ For those in our country who don’t think that what’s happening in Ukraine has anything to do with us: Putin doesn’t just want parts of Ukraine – he wants to end the post-World War II order that has underpinned freedom and economic prosperity in Europe, the United States, and beyond.”
Israel: “Israel and America have long shared a deep friendship, and now that relationship is more important than ever. Israel has been working to eliminate Hamas, which committed heinous acts of terrorism on October 7th. It’s long overdue for America to step up and provide much-needed aid to our friend and ally as they continue to root out this evil. America stands shoulder to shoulder with our friend and ally and supports their work to ensure Hamas is gone forever.”
Taiwan: “The Chinese Communist Party has been watching America’s response to Russia’s assault on Ukraine closely. Over the last couple of years, China has been stepping up their military presence in the South China Sea where they have conducted exercises. The South China Sea is a critical route that connects the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean, and Taiwan, which borders the sea, is a major supplier of semiconductors for the world. About a third of all worldwide trade passes through the South China Sea. America must make it clear that we stand with Taiwan and will support them against encroachment by Beijing.”
TikTok Ban: “TikTok is the Chinese Communist Party’s favorite social media app for Americans. It has been used as a tool of propaganda in our country and this ban will help put an end to that. Today’s vote was another overwhelming bipartisan show of force underscoring that America will not allow our foreign adversaries to use our country’s free marketplace to undermine our love for liberty.”
Border: “President Biden has failed to address the crisis his policies and rhetoric have created on our southern border. Millions of people have broken the law to enter the U.S. since he took office. While the President has failed to secure the border, House Republicans voted for the strongest border security bill in history – for the second time. If the president would support this commonsense measure, it would help save lives and bring his crisis to an end.”
