Congressman Flood Slams Biden's “Radical” Title IX Rewrite

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following news that the U.S. Department of Education finalized a rule allowing biological men and women who identify as another gender access to sports, scholarships and spaces previously administered based on biological sex. 

“President Biden’s radical new rule undermines the progress our country has made under Title IX. Allowing people to participate in sports, scholarships, and facilities based on gender identity rather than biological sex will result in titles, academic honors, and privacy being stripped away – especially from female athletes who can now expect to compete against biological men in greater numbers. Americans who disagree with Biden’s new rule and gender ideology can now be held liable under federal law for discrimination. I expect that this rule will be challenged and urge my colleagues in the House to move quickly to overturn it.”
