Congressman Flood, Nebraska Delegation Mark Another Successful Year of the Nebraska Breakfast in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Mike Flood marked the conclusion of the 2026 Nebraska Breakfast, celebrating the 83-year tradition that brings Nebraskans and the federal delegation together in Washington, D.C.

“In its 83rd year, the Nebraska Breakfast brought a little slice of Nebraska Nice to our nation’s capital,” said Congressman Flood. “Held on Wednesdays when both the House and Senate were in session, this tradition gives all Nebraskans visiting Washington, D.C. a chance to stop by, spend time with their federal delegation, and hear firsthand about our priorities and what’s happening on Capitol Hill. I want to thank everyone who stopped by one of our breakfasts this year and helped keep this great Nebraska tradition alive and well.”

The Nebraska Breakfast is open to all Nebraskans visiting Washington and provides a unique opportunity to hear directly from the entire Nebraska delegation. The tradition was started by Senator Hugh Butler in 1943 and has continued for more than eight decades.

This year, Congressman Flood’s office hosted the Nebraska Breakfast, continuing a longstanding tradition in which offices in Nebraska’s federal delegation alternate hosting responsibilities every year. Congressman Flood included Nebraska trivia questions at each Breakfast, celebrating communities, innovators, and accomplishments across the state.
