Congressman Flood Joins House Republicans in Joint Resolution to Stop Biden’s WOTUS Rule

February 6, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Mike Flood recently joined Congressman Sam Graves (R-MO), Congressman David Rouzer (R-NC), and several Western Caucus Members in a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) on the Biden Administration’s flawed and burdensome Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule which radically expands federal oversight of our nation’s waterways.

“The Biden Administration should be looking for ways to get the federal government out of the way by using commons sense to reduce federal regulation. Instead, they’re making the situation worse,” Congressman Flood said. “Expanding the definition of WOTUS not only causes more uncertainty and confusion for landowners and job creators across the country, but also entangles Americans in unnecessary red tape. House Republicans are stepping up to protect our family farmers, ranchers, and small business owners across the country.”

“Congress has the authority and responsibility to review onerous rules like this one handed down from the Executive Branch, and I hope our colleagues on both sides of the aisle will join in this effort to preserve regulatory clarity and prevent overzealous, unnecessary, and broadly defined federal power,” Congressman Graves said.
