Congressman Flood Highlights Community Project Funding Successes for the First District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement after the U.S. Senate voted to approve H.R. 4366, The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. The House voted to approve this legislation earlier this week and the President is expected to sign it shortly. This legislation is part of an overall bipartisan spending agreement that saves $200 billion over the next decade and enacts the first overall cut to non-defense, non-VA spending in almost ten years.
“These projects are big wins for communities across the First Congressional District,” said Rep. Flood. “All but one of our original requests received funding, which is an incredible result. We were able to accomplish all this in the appropriations process while controlling spending. Congratulations to each of the stakeholders who helped bring these projects to the table, and I look forward to seeing each of them come to fruition.”
All of these appropriations – with two exceptions – originated from Community Project Funding (CPF) requests made by Rep. Flood to the House Appropriations Committee last year. The UNL ARS Facility and Offutt Ditch Pump Station requests was made both by Congressman Flood in the House and by Senator Deb Fischer in the Senate.
