Congressman Flood Accepting Applications for 2027 Spring Internship Program in Washington, D.C.

August 24, 2026
LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood announced that his office is accepting applications for the spring internship program in his Washington, D.C. office.
“Interns play an important role in our office,” said Congressman Flood. “This experience is about more than learning how Congress works. Our program is an opportunity to contribute to the work of our office, engage directly with Nebraskans, and gain firsthand experience in public service. I encourage you and anyone you know to apply to my Washington, D.C. Office’s spring 2027 internship program to see Congress at work.”
Congressional interns in the Office of Congressman Flood will have the opportunity to work alongside each team within the office. The internship curriculum is designed to provide interns with a well-rounded understanding of how a congressional office operates, including constituent services, communications, legislative efforts, office operations, and committee work.
Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to attend policy briefings, unique tours, congressional hearings, guest speaker events, networking opportunities, and other activities on Capitol Hill.
The deadline to apply for the spring internship is October 2, 2026. The internship will run from January 25 – May 14.
Students and recent graduates with ties to Nebraska’s First Congressional District will receive first consideration. Full details about the internship program can be found here.
