WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following news that President Joe Biden and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intend to provide legal protections for half a million people who entered America illegally.

“Over and over again, President Biden’s rhetoric and policies have sent a message to people around the world that they can come to America without following the rules. His words and his actions have created a humanitarian crisis on our border of historic proportions. This week’s decision to grant amnesty to half a million people who entered our country illegally further undermines respect for America’s laws and will only make things worse. The House has already passed the Secure the Border Act, which will ensure that we build the wall and make other key policy changes. It’s time for the Senate to step up and do the same so that our country can finally put an end to President Biden’s border crisis.”
