Congressman Flood Announces Preliminary FY 25 Community Project Funding Form

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood unveiled a preliminary application for Community Project Funding (CPF) requests for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 appropriations process.
“The Community Project Funding program allows Members of Congress to directly connect community-supported projects with federal funding,” said Congressman Flood. “Most often, grant applicants must apply to federal agencies and compete against requests from bigger states. CPF gives communities across the First Congressional District another opportunity to receive the support we need to build the infrastructure and research facilities necessary for the future.”
Community Project Funding requests provide an opportunity for Members of Congress to pursue funding for specific local projects that meet certain requirements:
- Community Support – Only projects with evidenced and demonstrated community support, such as letters of support, will be considered.
- Financial Disclosure Statement – Members and their immediate family are prohibited from having a financial interest in the proposed project.
- Federal Nexus - In order to ensure a federal nexus exists for each funded project, the Committee will only fund projects that are tied to a federal authorization law. Requests must include a written statement describing the federal nexus for each Community Project Funding request.
- Maximum of 15 requests - Members of Congress may request no more than 15 CPF requests across all eligible accounts.
Sponsors must demonstrate the merits of their projects by completing the form. In addition, sponsors must submit a demonstration of community support. Submissions should be sent to NE01CPFSubmissions@mail.house.gov.
Requests made by governmental entities will receive priority consideration.
Please advise this form is preliminary and does not include subcommittee guidance from the Appropriations Committee. Upon release of guidance from the Appropriations Committee, our office will ask applicants for additional information and provide an updated form.
The submission deadline will be announced after the Appropriations Committee releases its deadlines.
